Meeting NZGAP Standard
New Zealand GAP (NZGAP) is a quality assurance programme owned by Horticulture New Zealand and audited by AsureQuality that provides a traceable, accountable system from crop to customer for the production of fruit, vegetables and flowers.
NZGAP Certification is reassurance for retailers and branded manufacturers of the standards met by you as a supplier and AsureQuality, as an approved Certification Body for NZGAP can help you achieve this.

What is the NZGAP Standard and why do you need it?
The programme ensures that best practices are in place for the production, packaging and distribution of New Zealand fresh produce, and reduces the risk of health, safety and environmental issues - so customers can buy with confidence.
NZGAP is supported by all major New Zealand retailers and fresh produce wholesalers, with organisations such as Progressive Enterprises, Foodstuffs, Turners & Growers and MG Marketing, all making accreditation to the NZGAP Programme (or similar) a requirement for continued market access.
In addition, NZGAP has been approved by the New Zealand Food Safety Authority.
Benefits of meeting the NZGAP Standard
Proof that your products are:
- of an acceptable quality,
- produced in a sustainable manner,
- and in the case of fruit and vegetables, safe to eat.
Since it s inception in 1999, it has become one of New Zealand’s largest quality assurance programmes covering 80% of all New Zealand domestically grown and marketed fresh produce.
