How to Gain Woolworths Quality Assurance (WQA) Certification
WQA Certification is assurance for Woolworths and Progressive Supermarkets that the requirements of the Woolworths Quality Assurance (WQA) standard are in place and effective. As an approved Certification Body for the WQA program AsureQuality can help you achieve this objective.
If you are invited to become a Woolworths Private Label Trade Partner and supply products to Woolworths, you will need to comply with the WQA Standard.
What is WQA and Why do you Need it?
The WQA program is benchmarked against global food safety standards and international retailing best practice. It ensures that all food and consumer products supplied to Woolworths retail outlets meet specific and rigorous quality assurance standards each and every time.
To achieve Certification to the WQA Standard, you are required to:
- Develop, document and implement a Quality Management System that meets requirements of the WQA Standard.
- Have your Quality Management System audited and certified by a 'Woolworths Approved' Certification body
AsureQuality capability
AsureQuality is an approved audit body for the Woolworths Quality Assurance Programme.
Once you are invited onto the WQA program, we conduct a gap analysis; reviewing your current processes and systems to identify the gaps between the WQA standard, and provide you with a report which highlights what you still need to develop, implement and achieve.
You then further develop your system to close the gaps and meet the requirements.
Our skilled and qualified auditors that are familiar with your industry will provide a certification audit followed by 6 monthly audits thereafter to ensure maintenance of the program and continual improvement; a key focus for Woolworths.
We have a Programme Manager who is available at any time should you wish to discuss the AsureQuality WQA auditing and certification program.
AsureQuality has the accreditation range to enable the provision of integrated and combined audits which will benefit your business. These benefits will include audit efficiencies, such as time and cost savings.
The WQA Standard covers
After successfully completing the WQA Certification Audit, and closing out any Major Corrective Actions (CARs), you will become certified as a Woolworths Trade Partner.
The certification will be specific for:
- the products the Woolworths Business Team have nominated you to supply
- the individual premises from which these products are supplied.
Each product has specific requirements. Take a look at the Category Requirement downloads for more information.
