AsureQuality has a long history of working for the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) (previously MAF) and successfully managing, developing and delivering capability and responding to incursions.
a legacy of defending nZ from pests & diseases
When AgriQuality and ASURE merged in 2007 to form AsureQuality, both companies had extensive experience in biosecurity, with both originally evolving out of the Ministry of Agriculture & Forestry (MAF) - a government agency with more than 100 years experience in defending New Zealand from exotic pests and diseases now called MPI.
We have a long term contract with MPI for the provision of Biosecurity Response Services.
The new arrangement, which is now in design phase, means AsureQuality and MPI are jointly building a capability network of resources in readiness for biosecurity responses.
The collective vision is "New Zealand building one team capable of dealing with any biosecurity emergency."

Biosecurity response & surveillance capability
Our Biosecurity Team, through accessing capability within AsureQuality and other organisations, has an international reputation for its ability to manage large-scale biosecurity operations and are available 24 / 7. We respond to livestock, horticultural, forestry, dairy, meat, apiary, GMO, environmental pests and marine biosecurity emergencies.
We provide other services for Biosecurity, including surveillance, pest management and training. Specialist areas include operational management of Biosecurity Programmes, logistics and GIS.
